Core Platform Improvements: October 2026
This month, the Aptible Security and SRE team was highly focused on critical patching and security hardening due to a high volume of CVEs and recent vulnerabilities.
As such, this month we focused on a few changes to make maintenance overall smoother for our customers. We’re also working on new security-focused features, including Red Team reviews and a native web application firewall (WAF).
Ops Alert Notifications for Account Owners
Account Owners are now subscribed to Ops Alert contacts by default. Previously, only a single email address could receive these alerts. Now, that email acts as a secondary contact, which works well for distribution groups (e.g., devops@).

Maintenance Windows, Now Available in Early Access
Introducing Maintenance Windows, defined times for maintenance to be performed for apps and databases.
Aptible’s default maintenance window Sunday at 22:00 UTC for 5 hours. For apps and databases on dedicated stacks, you can now set a custom window per resource. During early access, custom maintenance windows can only be set via the CLI or Terraform; UI support coming soon.

Red Team Reviews, Now Available in Early Access
Introducing Red Team Reviews, AI-driven reviews that identify exploitable security issues for your Apps. With Red Team Reviews, you can generate detailed reports of vulnerabilities in your Aptible-hosted Apps, similar to what you’d get from a traditional penetration test, but in a fraction of the time and price.
Red Team Reviews are powered by a specialized agent that reads the code and dependencies in the Docker images deployed to your Apps, combined with what Aptible knows about how they are configured and connected. The agent does not execute your code, and does not make any live requests to your Apps or any other network resource besides an LLM.
Red Team Reviews are free during early access. Contact Aptible Support to request access for your organization.
