Today, I’m excited to announce that Aptible is joining forces with Opti9, a leading cloud solutions provider.

This is a big moment for Aptible and for every developer who has trusted us to simplify secure cloud infrastructure. Together, Aptible and Opti9 will offer a broader portfolio of cloud solutions to meet the evolving needs of engineering teams.

Scale is critical in cloud infrastructure, and this partnership gives us the ability to invest even more aggressively in the platform our customers rely on. By becoming part of Opti9, we gain the scale and resources to accelerate our roadmap and expand what we can deliver to you.

What this means for Aptible Customers

You’ll continue to use Aptible just as you do today. Same platform, same reliability, same support. All your existing Aptible resources remain unchanged, and you’ll continue to receive the same great service from the Aptible team.

What’s new is that we’ll now be able to invest even more in the features you’ve asked for. Here’s a look at what’s on our roadmap:

  • Managed AI to help you run secure, compliant AI workloads.

  • Universal Platform to manage all your cloud infrastructure, no matter where it lives, through the Aptible dashboard and CLI.

  • Recommendations that proactively improve security, reliability, and cost efficiency.

While we’re accelerating our roadmap, we’re also planning to offer more managed services to help teams that want hands-on support running infrastructure across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

We’ll be sharing more details on these features and managed service offerings in the months ahead.

Looking ahead

When Chas and I started Aptible in 2013, our goal was simple: make it easy for every developer to launch and scale apps and databases that are secure, reliable, and compliant, no manual configuration required. Twelve years later, that vision is stronger than ever, and this partnership brings us even closer to achieving it.

To our customers, partners, and team: thank you. Your trust and feedback have shaped Aptible into what it is today, and we’re thrilled to take this next step with you.

Thank you for being a part of this journey.

Q&A

Why did we choose to partner with Opti9?

For the last 13 years, we have focused on one mission: making it simple for any developer to deploy secure, reliable, and compliant apps and databases. When we met Opti9, we immediately saw that partnering with them would help us move even faster toward that mission. Opti9 brings deep cloud expertise, especially in AWS and managed services. By combining our strengths, we can extend our platform, expand our roadmap, and deliver more value to every Aptible customer.

How will the Aptible team change?

We are not planning any personnel changes. You will continue working with the same people you know and trust.

Most importantly:

  • Frank is stepping into an executive role at Opti9 where he will continue to oversee Aptible’s product and engineering teams. This will allow him to focus even more on the Aptible roadmap and the evolution of the platform.

  • Support is staying exactly the same. Our customer support, SRE, and security engineering teams will remain unchanged.

What will change about the Aptible platform?

Our product roadmap is accelerating. With Opti9’s support, we will be able to develop and release new features more quickly. Customers have been asking for capabilities such as managed AI, multi-cloud infrastructure management, and stronger automated recommendations for security, reliability, and cost efficiency. These initiatives will move forward even faster as a result of this partnership.

Opti9’s expertise in AWS and managed services will also allow us to offer more hands-on support for teams that want additional operational help.

What will not change:

  • The reliability, scalability, security, and compliance of infrastructure hosted on Aptible, or the regions we support

  • How developers provision, manage, and deploy apps and databases

  • Our long-term commitment to a simple, self-serve, developer-friendly platform

Will we still offer 24x7 support?

Yes. Nothing is changing here. Aptible and Opti9 share the belief that around-the-clock support, SRE coverage, and security engineering expertise are essential to the Aptible customer experience.

Will my contract change?

No. Your existing contract will stay exactly the same, and all agreements currently in place will continue to be fulfilled as they are today.

Do I have to change where I send payment?

No. Please continue to send payments exactly as you do today. If anything ever changes, we will communicate that clearly and well in advance.

Will my pricing change?

No pricing changes are planned. If we ever make changes in the future, we will follow the same transparent communication process we have always used.

Will Aptible remain a distinct product?

Yes. Aptible will continue to operate as its own product and platform. The partnership strengthens our ability to invest in the platform you already rely on.

Will the regions where my apps run change? Will my data move?

No. Your data will remain in the same regions, and nothing about data residency will change.

Will this affect compliance, such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or HITRUST?

No. All compliance guarantees, certifications, and attestations remain fully in place. Our commitments around security and regulatory requirements will not change.

Will there be any downtime or required migration?

No. This partnership does not require any migrations, changes to your infrastructure, or downtime.

Who should I contact for support or questions?

You should continue to contact Aptible Support and your Aptible account manager the same way you always have.

Is Aptible still committed to a self-serve developer platform?

Yes. This partnership strengthens our ability to build even more self-serve tools that help developers deploy and scale secure, reliable, and compliant infrastructure.

Are additional acquisitions or partnerships planned?

Cloud infrastructure continues to evolve, and we plan to evolve with it. Together with Opti9, we will continue exploring opportunities that help us improve the value we deliver. Any future decisions will be based entirely on what benefits customers most.
