# aptible db:rename

This command renames a [Database](/core-concepts/managed-databases/managing-databases/overview) handle. For this change to take effect, the Database must be restarted. After restart, the new Database handle will appear in log and metric drains.\

  aptible db:rename OLD_HANDLE NEW_HANDLE [--environment ENVIRONMENT_HANDLE]
